Household appliances
Household appliances refer to the household electrical appliances, such as refrigerators, washing machines, air conditioning, coffee pot, fruit juice machine and iron. Sports fitness appliances refer to the products use in family or fitness center to exercise the body, for example treadmills, massage chairs, massage belts do not belong to medical used.
Household appliances and sports fitness products in a great variety, in testing and certification, those can be divided into:
1、Heating Appliance: such as frying pan, toaster, oven, waffles machine, pizza machine, toast machine, popcorn machine, barbecue grills, coffee machine, iron, electric rice cooker, electric kettle, insulation board, fry cooker, electric heaters, electric blanket, etc.
2、Motor Appliance: mixer, juice extractor, meat machine, slicing machine, fruit machine, food processor, ice crusher, coffee bean grinding machine, vacuum cleaners, washing machines, dryer, massage device, sewing machine, cooker hoods, electric fan, air freshening machine, electric curtains, etc.
3、Mix motor and heating Appliance: washing machine with steam function, dryer, mobile phones, air conditioning, bread making machine, mosquito killer lamp with heat and air, etc.
When household appliances and sports fitness appliances testing, they need to accord with product Safety (Safety), the electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and relevant laws and regulations such as the requirement of EMF.
Due to the use of the power supply more directly to the utility, voltage and power consumption is high, the temperature of fry, boil, cook are high and motor turning is fast, and user maybe is the older or child which with weak safety concept, so the safety requirement is more important than others. Temperature and fire prevention are quite important for electric heating products. Insulation and mechanical damage need to special consideration for motor products.
If the product purely composed with heating element and motor, and they do not consider EMC, and they pass the test in big probability. If appear the inconformity, the solution is not too complicated. Some products, use string-excited type motor or dc motor (such as fruit juice machine, vacuum cleaner or hair dryer), they will have a serious EMI trouble, so it need to space reserved countermeasures when design. Some products use the PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) technology (such as the treadmill and frequency conversion air conditioning), which use the high frequency technology, so they have serious EMC problem, add with big current and power, they modify are not easy. For the appliance with thermostat should also add click test.
EMF-the radiation from electromagnetic field to human body which assesses the size of radiation intensity to users when the household appliances in normal use. EMF testing to ensure the products radiation is under the certain reference level to protect human safety. The test is based on EN62233 standards.
